Rachael Gunn bows out of Paris Olympics without a point for Australia in breakdancing debut

Australian breakdancer Rachael Gunn, also known as Raygun, has bowed out of the Paris Olympics without a point in the sport's debut at the Games.

Gunn, a 36-year-old lecturer at Macquarie University in Australia, competed in the women's breaking event on Friday but failed to progress past the preliminary round.

Breakdancing, also known as breaking, made its debut as an Olympic sport at the Paris Games, with 16 men and 16 women competing for gold.

Gunn, who is still widely considered one of Australia's best female breakers, represented the country at the 2021 World Breaking Championships in Paris.

She has been breaking since her mid-20s and is also known as Dr. Rachael Gunn.

Breakdancing will make its Olympic debut at the Paris Games in 2024, with two of Australia's finest breakers, B-Boy Killa Kolya and B-Girl Emily "EMMA" Norris, set to compete.
